Reports to Role: Property and Business Development Director

Role Purpose

Drive profitable growth for DPG and its franchisees through the identification of new store opportunities which will deliver a return for our franchisees and generate incremental EBITDA for DPG.

Provide insight (through a group portal) to Franchisees on the how effectively they are penetrating their territories to drive an improvement in sales of existing (not new) stores.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Develop a network plan to exploit the growth potential in the UK and RO, taking into consideration long term business objectives plans and goals
  • Identify suitable territories for a new store
  • Accurately predict the sales potential of the new store and the level of cannibalisation of any existing store(s)
  • Implement, maintain, update and develop the Geolytics/Esri tool ensuring it remains fits fit for purpose.
  • Ensure external data sources drive an acceptable return on investment
  • Apply best in class analytical and statistical methodologies to develop Domino’s geo-demographic capabilities i.e. modelling, store clustering, sales forecasting

Analytics

  • Fully exploit all internal data sources to create a full understanding of the local market dynamics e.g. CRM, GPS etc.
  • Where there are gaps in data which undermine sales forecast accurately, work out how to acquire this data in the most cost effective manner
  • Ensure geo-demographic capabilities & Insight are accessible to the wider business including Franchisees so that their decisions are informed by robust data
  • Provide post audit assessment and use key leanings to inform network development strategies

Legislation and Reporting

  • Ensure that Domino’s data held externally is secure and compliant with Data protection legislation
  • Provide effective leadership of the Location Planning Team including the Identification and development of talent
  • Produce regular reports and analysis, write systems queries to gather performance data, and perform data-mining and analysis using reporting tools to identify trends and improve forecast accuracies, as well as identify opportunities for cost savings

Developing Self and Others

  • Direct responsibility for the line management and personal development of the Store Analyst team
    • Ensure direct line reports and all team members have comprehensive personal development plans, linked to their individual objectives
    • Develop a strong sense of co-operation and teamwork with a focus on common business goals and KPIs
    • Establish effective succession planning within the Store Analyst Team
    • Carry out Personal Development Reviews with direct reports at least bi-annually
    • Carry out skills/competencies and personal development needs analysis and put in place a plan for addressing needs and gaps
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all of the businesses within the Domino’s Group
  • Ensure customer-centric focus and high levels of service (internal & external)
  • Operate in the role according to Domino’s Values and lead by example
  • Follow all relevant legal requirements
  • Actively participate in the Domino’s performance development review process
  • Continue to develop own talents and strengths and address any areas of self-development

Person Specification

  • Proven track record in location planning and analysis in a retail or services environment
  • Experience of using complex geo-demographic systems/models and 3rd party demographic and retail data
  • Has successfully initiated and implementing change
  • Experience of managing a team of people to deliver results
  • Experience of driving profitability
  • Do they need to have an appreciation of planning regulations?

Competencies

  • Ability to demonstrate sound commercial judgment and recommend, drive improvement
  • Highly analytical and capable to connect different sources of data to provide insight that leads to value creation
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage 3rd parties
  • Advanced knowledge of geo-demographic tools and data sources
  • The ability to create and maintain sales forecasting models and systems
  • The ability to develop portfolio strategies for new stores and re-locations both in the UK and ROI
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal
