Geodemographic Suppliers Forum

The SLA’s first Suppliers Forum took place on Monday 5th July at Ordnance Survey’s splendid Business Centre in Southampton.

The morning sessions saw a parade of Geodemographic suppliers ; Ian Goodliffe for CACI, Richard Jenkings representing Experian, Martin Bradbury for EuroDirect, and Eli Kling for GeoBusiness Solutions. Each speaker took a different slant on the subjects of segmentation and geodemographics, providing a fascinating morning.

After lunch, Phil Hermsen of Information Arts changed the focus, by talking about a business-to-business classification. Phil Lines of Ordnance Survey told us about their approach to the property and retail market. The day was rounded off by a lively panel session, moderated by Jack Steenstra.

Our thanks to all the speakers, and additional thanks to Phil Lines for making the venue available to us. An attendance of thirty was expected - but sadly traffic chaos on the M25 thwarted a few. A very successful meeting for those who made it.
