Event Speakers & Brief Synopsis:
Stuart Morley, Director and Head of Research, GVA Grimley
Stuart will talk about the economic and retail property market outlook, including retail expenditure growth compared with long-term trends; the effect of the internet on store-based sales, and how retailer demand, rental / capital value growth and development activity will be affected by the economic outlook. He will also give his views on how retail location will be affected by accessability, mobility and government planning policies.
Hetal Mehta, Economist, Oxford Economics
Hetal will cover the following topics:
UK macroeconomic outlook (manufacturing, sevices, housing market, unemployment).
Impact on consumer spending / retail outlook.
Outlook for London, how it fits into rest of UK, will London bounce back?
