NEW SLA Members' Personal Adverts
Date: 23rd March 2009
'Location Planning Manager Personal Advert'.
Since graduating from the University of Leeds with a Masters in GIS, I have gained over 12 years experience in location planning at a variety of food and non-food international retailers.
I was responsible for building up a location planning function from scratch at national cycle and car accessory retailer. Leading a small team I managed the development of location research initiatives, developing a store turnover regression model and a market capacity model, which dramatically increased the accuracy of new store predictions and led to a comprehensive network plan for the chain.
More recently I spent 5 years in the store forecasting team of general merchandise retailer providing sales forecasts and impacts for new stores and relocations at a regional level. The role involved preparing new store reports to be presented to the board, providing first year weekly sales forecasts to Finance, and running new store opening meetings on site liaising with Operations, Marketing, Property and Store Development.
I am highly numerate/analytical with strong written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to influence at a senior level. My technical skills include Mapinfo, ArcGIS, Experian Micromarketer, CACI Insite, SPSS, Access, Excel and Business Objects.
